A great day out for all the family at Dolaucothi Gold Mines not far from Woodland View. This is the only known Roman Gold Mine in the UK. Described as a hidden gem in Carmarthenshire, Dolaucothi is steeped in Roman archaeology and offers a rare insight into the extraction of rare Welsh Gold. These mines have many a story to tell. Take one of the underground guided tours into the dark drift mines; follow in the footsteps of bygone miners and discover the harsh realities of working underground for yourself. You can also go on your own quest for Gold by trying your luck at Gold Panning -anything you find you can keep!
